NEMO

The young design company Nemo is no longer considered a newcomer to the field of high quality luminaire manufacture. Since its foundation in 1993 by Franco Cassina and Carlo Forcolini, the Italian company has been able to successively extend its sphere of activity and is today – after its incorporation into the company Poltrona Frau, one of the best known furniture manufacturers in Italy – a well-established constant in the field of luminaire design. Timeless classics such as the pendant luminaires URSA (1993), the table luminaires IOTA (1994) and the series of free-standing luminaires ARA (2003) – highlights in the Nemo range of products – originate from the conception of internationally renowned designers such as Vico Magistretti, Ikaru Mori or Ilaria Marelli. Just as the other product collections, they are characterised by a modern form language and technological perfection. The research of energy-efficient lighting technologies is expressed in the use of energy-saving fluorescent lamps and in increasing number of LED luminaires in Nemo's product portfolio.
